Zombie Night Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Zombie Night is a survival game made by Kaivale Studio. This policy explains what happens to your information when you play. The short version: we don't collect any.
No accounts
Zombie Night has no accounts of its own. You don't sign up, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.
Game Center handles online play
If you're signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game uses it to invite friends and find players for online matches. Game Center shows your Game Center nickname to the players in your match. During a match the game sends gameplay moves (where you walk, what you build) and any chat messages straight between the players' devices over Game Center's match connection. Nothing passes through, or gets stored on, any server of ours. Apple runs Game Center under Apple's Privacy Policy. We don't get your Apple ID, and we don't keep anything Game Center gives the game.
When an online match starts, the game may ask for access to your Game Center friends list. It only uses the list on your device, to turn typed chat on by default when you're playing with friends, and to count the friends you've played a full round with (friend milestones, which unlock looks in the game). You can say no; typed chat then starts off, you can turn it on for a match yourself, and friend milestones don't count.
If you play the Daily Run while signed in, your time goes to its Game Center leaderboard, where other players can see it next to your Game Center nickname. The game also reads your Game Center friends' times on that leaderboard, on your device, to tell you when one of them passes you.
You can play single player without Game Center.
Chat
- Online matches have an optional chat: quick-chat lines, and typed messages. Messages go straight between the players' devices through Game Center's match connection. They never pass through, or get stored on, any server of ours.
- Messages exist only in the memory of the devices in the match. They're deleted when the match ends, when you leave it, or when the app closes. Nothing is saved.
- Typed chat is on by default only with your Game Center friends and people whose invite you accepted; with anyone else you choose to turn it on for that match. Quick chat always works.
- Bad words are masked automatically on your device, messages with slurs or harassment are removed, and offensive player names are shown as "Player" plus a short code.
- You can mute, block or report any player. If you report someone, the game opens an email to us in your own mail app, filled in with that player's Game Center name, a short reference code for them, the time of the match, and their recent messages. You can read and edit it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send it.
- You can switch chat to quick chat only, or turn it off, in Settings. If your device has Screen Time restrictions on communication or multiplayer, typed chat or all chat is turned off automatically.
- In single player, the chat stays on your phone: the bots' quick-chat lines are made up by the game.
What stays on your device (and in your iCloud)
Your settings (sound on or off, whether you've seen the how-to-play tips, which notifications you want, and your chat setting) are saved on your device, along with your blocked players list. Blocked players are stored by their Game Center player ID so they stay blocked in future matches; that list never leaves your device. The game also saves a few counts it uses to decide when to show Apple's rating prompt (how many days and rounds you've played).
If you're signed in to iCloud, the game also keeps a copy of your progress (the tutorial and tips you've done, the looks you wear and have earned, those counts, your daily challenges, streak and season progress, the Game Center player IDs of the friends you've played a full round with, your chat setting) in your own iCloud storage, so it comes back if you reinstall or play on another device. Apple stores it under Apple's Privacy Policy; we can't see it. The sound setting and blocked players stay on the device. Deleting the app deletes the device copy.
To know when a season starts and ends, the game downloads a small schedule file from our website (https://alexmmarshall1.github.io/kaivale/zombienight/seasons.json) at most twice a day. It sends nothing about you: it's an ordinary web request, served by GitHub Pages under GitHub's Privacy Statement.
If you share a round, the picture and line of text go only where you send them from Apple's share sheet. We don't see them.
If you allow notifications, the phone schedules them itself (at most one a day): nothing is sent to or from a server of ours. You can switch each kind off in SETTINGS, or all of them in iOS Settings.
Purchases
In-app purchases go through Apple. Apple handles payment, and we never see your payment details. The game only learns from the App Store which items you own, and keeps a copy of that list on your device so your towers work offline.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking
Zombie Night has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. We don't sell or share information, because we don't have any.
Children
Zombie Night doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Online play and chat follow the device's Screen Time and Game Center settings, so parents can turn multiplayer or communication off.
