MazeTD Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
MazeTD is a tower defense game made by Kaivale Studio. This policy explains what happens to your information when you play. In short: we don't collect any of it.
No accounts
MazeTD has no accounts of its own. You don't sign up, and we never ask for your name, email address, phone number or location.
Game Center handles your identity
If you're signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game uses it for leaderboards and online matches. Game Center shows your Game Center nickname to the players you play with, and posts your scores to the MazeTD leaderboards. Apple runs Game Center under Apple's Privacy Policy. We don't get your Apple ID, and we don't store anything Game Center gives the game.
When an online match starts, the game may ask for access to your Game Center friends list. It only uses the list on your device, to turn typed chat on by default when you're playing with friends. You can say no; typed chat then starts off, and you can turn it on for a match yourself.
Chat
- Online matches have an optional chat. Messages go straight between the players' devices through Game Center's match connection. They never pass through, or get stored on, any server of ours.
- Messages exist only in the memory of the devices in the match. They're deleted when the match ends, when you leave it, or when the app closes. Nothing is saved.
- Bad words are masked automatically on your device, messages with slurs or harassment are removed, and offensive player names are shown as "Player" plus a short code.
- You can mute, block or report any player. If you report someone, the game opens an email to us in your own mail app, filled in with that player's Game Center name, a short reference code for them, the time of the match, and their recent messages. You can read and edit it before sending, and nothing is sent unless you send it.
- You can switch chat to quick chat only, or turn it off, in Settings. If your device has Screen Time restrictions on communication or multiplayer, typed chat or all chat is turned off automatically.
What stays on your device
Your settings (sound, chat, game setup), your personal stats, your saved games and your blocked players list are saved on your device. Blocked players are stored by their Game Center player ID so they stay blocked in future matches; that list never leaves your device.
If you're signed in to iCloud, the game also keeps a copy of your friend progress (the Game Center player IDs of the friends you've finished an online match with, the looks you've earned by playing with them, and a count of your online matches) in your own iCloud storage, so it comes back if you reinstall or play on another device. Apple stores it under Apple's Privacy Policy; we can't see it. You can turn this off by turning off iCloud for MazeTD in the Settings app. Deleting the app deletes the device copy.
Once in a while the game downloads a small public file with the season schedule from our website (alexmmarshall1.github.io, hosted by GitHub). The request sends nothing about you; like any web request it reaches GitHub's servers, which handle it under GitHub's privacy statement.
No analytics, no ads, no tracking
MazeTD has no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect data. We don't sell or share information, because we don't have any.
Purchases
Any in-app purchases go through Apple. Apple handles payment, and we never see your payment details. The game only learns which items you own, from the App Store.
Children
MazeTD doesn't knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13. Chat follows the device's Screen Time settings, so parents can turn communication off.
Contact us
Questions, or a report you'd rather send yourself: email kaivale.support@gmail.com. You can also use Settings → Contact support in the game. We read every report and aim to respond within 24 hours.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
